Next week on EastEnders, Avani is thrown into a terrifying situation, Phil faces life back in Walford, and Linda meets up with a potential love interest.

1. Lily, Avani and Amy skip school
It’s no secret that poor Lily has been struggling with grief since the tragic d.e.a.t.h of her dad. As a result, Avani rallies around her friend and suggests that they should swap school for a fun day out with Amy.
Before long, Priya catches the rebellious youngsters in McKlunky’s, but Avani successfully convinces her to look the other way for Lily’s sake.
However, the afternoon takes a turn for a worse when the trio bump into Marvin, a local boy who previously sold Avani vapes.
While the schoolgirl rejects his offer of drugs, the police turn up at the worst possible moment and realise that the group are playing truant – before spotting a bag of drugs that Marvin dropped by Avani’s feet.
Can the terrified teens talk themselves out of trouble?
2. Nigel feels frustrated
Now back at home, Phil feels grateful for the support that his family and Nigel have given him. Life isn’t completely back to normal though, as the Mitchell patriarch clearly feels uncomfortable with the idea of his neighbours finding out about his stint in the psychiatric hospital.
Later, Nigel slips up while working the café, which leads Phil to tell Bernie that his best friend is unwell. Unfortunately, Nigel can’t help but feel riled up by the comment and snaps back.
3. Kim makes a suggestion
After the devastating fire at The Queen Vic, the future of the Carter family residence has been up in the air. So, Linda is full of relief when she receives news from the insurance company that they will release the money to rebuild the iconic institution.
Although, her happiness is put on hold when Elaine takes control of proceedings. Fed up, Linda explains her predicament to Denise, but it’s Kim that steps in and suggests that dating could solve her problems. The mum-of-five bats off the suggestion, then shifts her focus to Johnny and Felix.
Is she about to find love for her single son?
4. Avani is horrified
Having been taken to the police station, Amy and Lily are picked up by their respective guardians, Jack and Jean. In Avani’s case, neither Priya nor Ravi pick up the call to alert them that their daughter has been taken in by the authorities.
With no parent or carer by her side, Avani is informed that the police need to strip search her as they believe that she could have more drugs on her person.
5. Phil opens up
As one of Phil’s closest friends, George feels that he should be there for his pal, but the two men find it difficult to open up to one another.
This leads the former boxer to ask Linda for tips on the best way to show his support. After she advises him to keep up a dialogue with Phil, George asks the businessman to be his sparring partner. Thankfully, the sessions trigger something within Phil to ever-so slightly open up about his emotions.
Afterwards, George visits Nigel and suggests that the gym should run a regular over-40s club called ‘Box and Bantz’.

6. Suki comes to the rescue
At the police station, Avani is strip searched by two female officers, after she declines an offer to have an appropriate adult in the room.
Subsequently, Suki receives information from Jean and makes a beeline for her young relative. Upon arrival at the station, she’s horrified to hear about what has taken place, but Avani refuses to let her file a complaint.
Later in the week, Suki, Priya and Eve feel concerned for Avani in the wake of her ordeal. Meanwhile, the teenager heads to the playground with a bottle of vodka instead of returning to the safety of her dad’s house.
Elsewhere, Nigel lies to Linda and says that he’s visited the doctor, after she enquires about his scheduled appointment.
7. Gina and Anna compete
With no work available at The Vic, Gina and Anna visit Harry’s Barn to enquire about job positions.
At the bar, the two siblings learn from Nicola that she only has one role available, so they will need to compete against each other.
Thereafter, the Knights turn up for their joint trial to discover that Harry will be testing them, who takes delight in winding Gina up.
Elsewhere, Nigel feels apologetic for revealing his friend’s secret, while Phil tries his best to keep strong.
8. Priya takes action
After Avani returns home, Priya questions her daughter about her whereabouts. The following conversation soon escalates into an argument, in which Avani casts doubt on Priya’s mothering skills.
However, things take a turn when Priya finds out exactly what has her daughter has been put through by the police. Furious, Priya visits Jack and gives him a piece of her mind about the behaviour of his colleagues.
Also at No 27, Lily and Amy are mortified to hear about their friend’s experience, which leads Avani to lash out and flee the scene.
Once on her own at home, poor Avani feels overwhelmed by her emotions.
9. Linda goes on a date
In the matchmaking mood, Linda continues her plan to set up Johnny and Felix. Although, it’s not long before she remembers that she once promised herself that she would move on and allow herself to be happy. With that in mind, Linda puts her guard down and permits Kim to find her a date.
Later in the week, Johnny reassures his mum as she prepares to meet her potential love interest, Jeff.
As Linda makes small talk at the table, will the pair hit it off?
10. Ravi learns the truth
Alongside Priya, protective Ravi is mortified when he learns that Avani is nowhere to be found. After some time, the parents track down their daughter to the playground, where she has passed out.
A doctor’s trip follows, but the appointment only sparks Ravi’s concerns even more.
Once he finally coaxes the truth out of Suki, will Ravi take matters into his own hands?
