Lisa Dingle’s presence will very much be felt during Belle Dingle’s (Eden Taylor-Draper) wedding in Emmerdale as she weds Tom King (James Chase).

Jane Cox, who portrayed Lisa, featured in the ITV soap on and off from 1996-2019.

Lisa, as viewers will recall, tragically died five years ago after being diagnosed with terminal heart condition.

The the character made a brief return the following year, during Belle’s mental health storyline, as a voice in Belle’s head.

Ahead of Belle and Tom’s (James Chase) wedding, it’s now been reported that Jane will return once more as Lisa in some capacity.

This week, Lydia (Karen Blick) paid a visit to Belle and presented her with a framed picture of her mum. She explained that while Lisa cannot be there in person, the Dingles can display her picture at the wedding and reception, so she is able to be there in spirit.

According to The Sun, Jane was happy to be present during the filming, but unfortunately was not able to visit the Emmerdale set and reunite with her on-screen daughter.

We already know that moments before Belle ties the knot with Tom, she will receive a gift from Sam (James Hooton) – which is a letter from Lisa.

‘I don’t want to say what the letter says but Belle is given it just as she is going into the church,’ Eden told us.

‘Zak has given Sam a letter to give Belle. Her mum Lisa wrote it before she passed away to open on the day she got married.

‘When Belle gets the letter she gets upset as it is too emotional and she thinks “I can’t read this now, it’s too much.”’

Instead, Belle keeps the letter close by all through the wedding – tucked inside her wedding bouquet.

Eden described the emotional moment when Belle finally opens the letter and reads the message from her mum.

‘Belle ends up reading it right at the end of the day. The letter is beautiful and so emotional and I can’t imagine receiving something like that – something so precious that had been kept safely for that special day.

‘It is such a precious moment and so emotional that someone would do that.’
