Emmerdale’s Tom King cruelly humiliates Belle after their honeymoon

Upcoming Emmerdale scenes will see Tom King’s concerning behaviour continue as he cruelly humiliates his new wife Belle after their honeymoon.
Belle and Tom recently tied the knot, but the couple’s big day ended disastrously after a brawl broke out between Caleb and Nate – with Tom ordering his devastated bride to sleep downstairs after she asked to read a letter left by her mother.
This follows months of Tom displaying an abusive streak towards his partner, seeing him often insult Belle and even going as far as to push her after she rejected his initial proposal.
In scenes set to air next Wednesday and Thursday (February 21 and 22), a loved-up Tom and Belle return home from their honeymoon in the Lake District. However, things take a dark turn upon their return to the village.
When Belle tries to assert herself in the marriage, Tom shuts her down, determined to be in control.
Later on at the salon, Belle, Lydia and Mandy discuss their sex lives with each other. During the conversation, Mandy inspires Belle to give Tom a surprise at work, leaving her excited by the idea.
However, Tom reacts badly to the surprise when she shows up at his work, leaving Belle humiliated after he cruelly chastises her.
Speaking about the dark twist for his character, Tom actor James Chase recently revealed that he’d always known about the ongoing storyline.
“I knew most of what will come up for him,” Chase said of Tom’s behaviour.
“I don’t want to say too much, but they made it clear when I joined what route the story would take. But I think that is what makes the role so much more interesting and complex. You want to play complex characters, don’t you!”
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
