ITV Emmerdale fear for Belle Dingle’s life as Tom King makes grand gesture

Emmerdale fans have rumbled what will happen next for Belle Dingle and Tom King after spotting a clue tonight.

Following their wedding, Tom slept upstairs and left Belle downstairs as they rowed over Belle wanting to open the letter from her mum Lisa Dingle. However, he returned downstairs tonight and apologised to her for his behaviour, with her eventually forgiving him for what he’d done, calling him a good man as he presented her with a special honeymoon present.

Belle received a text from Mandy to ask if they wanted to join them for a drink that night but when Belle suggested the idea, Tom wasn’t keen and said he wanted to be alone with her instead. She eventually agreed and seemed more loved up than ever but fans have rumbled a worrying twist for Belle going forward after tonight’s scenes.

One wrote: “He’ll drown her in the hot tub #Emmerdale,” whilst a second added: “DONT GO TO THE LAKES BELLE WITH HIM! #Emmerdale.” A third shared: “Wow. Tom is disgusting can’t believe he’s twisted that around on Belle #Emmerdale,” with a fourth penning: “With all the problems tom causing I think that belles psychotic problems will come back #Emmerdale.”

Warning what’s to come, James Chase – who plays Tom – has shared things will get worse for Belle. He said: “I think he finds it frustrating and he has lost control. I think control is what it always comes back to. I don’t think he knows how to deal with their chaos. I would say he’s threatened a bit by the family as he is very ordered but they are chaotic and there isn’t a button that he can use to turn that off. When you get married to a Dingle you are thrust right into the middle of it and I don’t think he had estimated that.

“I think Tom is one of those guys that just when he gets in a relationship he puts all his eggs in one basket. And he’s done that with Belle as he loves her so much, and married her within a few months of being together. I think he’s so afraid of losing her and that is partly why he is so insecure and I think partly why he acts in such a controlling way. Because he thinks that is how he will keep her. He loves Belle and prefers them just to be together and exclude everyone else.”

Eden Taylor Draper, who plays Belle, says her character is still “turning a blind eye” to Tom’s behaviour.

She said: “We have witnessed his controlling behaviour but I think Belle herself is just turning a blind eye to all that at the moment under the assumption he’s just doing it all out of love … I think it is going to be a really fun year. A big year. It will be challenging but I feel ready for that challenge,’ she stated, before giving us a glimpse of how things are going to unfold.

“Belle has no idea what is coming. Soaps can show behind the public face of a relationship. I think it’s the best thing as a viewer as you have a sneak peek behind closed doors. And actually things like this could be going on behind many closed doors to some degree.”

She added of the big scenes: “Sometimes it just takes that reflection on screen to make you think again. People might recognise and see the little red flags and the aspects of controlling behaviour.”
