Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) is less than impressed in upcoming episodes of Emmerdale as he’s faced once more with someone he’d really rather not see.
Following Rishi’s (Bhasker Patel) death last year, his brother Amit (Anil Goutam) paid a visit to the village. This was the first time Jai had seen him ever since the discovery Rishi wasn’t his dad, but he wasn’t exactly keen on welcoming Amit into the role of father.
And that’s not the only reason for Jai casting Amit dodgy looks whenever he sees him.
Following the reveal that Amit was present when Rishi fell down the stairs at Holdgate and died, Jai has understandably refused to give him the time of day.
Without any evidence either way we only have his word for it. Most people who know about the incident are inclined to give Amit the benefit of the doubt, but Jai has stubbornly refused to have anything to do with his father, even resigning from his job at the Hide when Amit bought a stake in the business.
As much as he tries, avoiding Amit isn’t exactly the easiest thing in the world, as Jai is about to find out.
In this new video, it’s Suni’s (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) birthday and he’s enjoying time at Mill Cottage with Nicky (Lewis Cope) and Ruby (Beth Cordingly).
The door goes and Jai and Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) enter with a gift for Suni. The couple are ready to enjoy themselves at Suni’s party, but things quickly change when there’s another knock on the door.
Suni heads over, but who has arrived?
Amit, of course.
He hugs his son and says happy birthday, but Jai’s face drops completely – this party has suddenly taken an awkward and uncomfortable turn.
