Pain for Mary Goskirk as Suzy Merton and Vanessa Woodfield share a sparky moment
Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson) may be set to have her heart broken in upcoming Emmerdale scenes, and we’re not sure our hearts can take it.
Poor Mary hasn’t had much luck with love since coming out as a lesbian in 2022.
Things were looking up for her when she met Faye, who seemed like the perfect woman.
Unfortunately, Faye turned out to be a con-artist and left Mary heartbroken and penniless after fleeing with her savings. When police got involved, Faye tried to blackmail Mary into changing her statement by threatening to release private pictures of her.
When the pictures were shared, Mary refused to let it get to her, instead deciding to move forward and try dating again, though she had little luck in finding the one.
However, things began to look up recently when Mary and Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough) began to bond.
It has since become clear that Mary has developed feelings for the wedding planner, and the pair certainly have chemistry.
In recent scenes, Mary and Suzy took time away from Belle Dingle and Tom King’s (Eden Taylor-Draper and James Chase) wedding reception to have a quiet drink together, and the sparks were certainly flying as they flirted with one another.
Unfortunately, they were soon interrupted by the arrival of Suzy’s ex Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick), and the moment was over.
Later, Mary caught Vanessa and Suzy sharing a kiss, and our hearts broke alongside hers as she branded herself a ‘silly old woman’ for thinking that something could happen between them.
In upcoming scenes, she will face further heartbreak when Suzy and Vanessa share another charged moment in the Woolpack.
‘Where we left it relationship wise was on a very positive note with Suzy, even though they weren’t together, they left and had a little kiss and it was all very lovely,’ actress Michelle Hardwick said of Suzy and Vanessa’s relationship.
‘With her coming back to the village, Vanessa is totally unaware of maybe a potential relationship between Suzy and Mary – Vanessa sees Mary as a mother figure,’ the star added.
‘Vanessa is totally oblivious to this so I think she’s going to try and get her relationship on track with Suzy, and whether she wants to or not we’ll just have to wait and see.’
Are Suzy and Vanessa set to reignite their romance, or does Mary still have a chance? We’re staying hopeful!
