‘Biggest mistake ever!’ rage Emmerdale fans as they slate bosses for axing character and ‘making villain even worse’
The villain is set to target Eric Pollard in upcoming scenes.
EMMERDALE fans have slammed bosses for the ‘biggest mistake ever’ after axing one character and making an unpopular villain ‘even worse’.
The ITV soap has seen a handful of exits in recent months, as well as new characters arriving in the village.
But the one that really shocked Emmerdale viewers was the sudden death of Rishi Sharma in July last year.
Rishi – played by Bhasker Patel – was found dead at the bottom of his stairs on son Jai’s wedding day.
However, it was later revealed that Rishi’s brother Amit had been there at the time of his death, and a recent episode cemented fans’ theory that he killed his brother.
Now, spoilers for the soap have revealed that Amit will set his sights on Eric Pollard in a new storyline twist.
When Amit learns Eric is one of the wealthiest residents in the village, he swoops in to offer him a business opportunity, but clearly has an ulterior motive.
The news has not gone down well with some viewers, with one writing on a Reddit forum: “How to make an unpopular character worse – here’s how.”
A fellow viewer replied: “Lovely kind, Rishi was killed off, for this nonsense. Another villain character, just what, Emmerdale needs.”
Another added: “Biggest mistake they ever made second only to having Manpreet break up with Rishi for the worst vicar that ever existed (he has no kindness or compassion for anyone.)
“We need a shower moment and reset the Dale’s back to before they changed who Jai’s Dad was.”
They weren’t alone with their view or Amit, as a fellow Emmerdale fan wrote: “1000% we’re gonna get a who killed Amit story line and Ill put money on it being this year tbh.
“No hate to the actor because he’s doing a fine job but the character is so unlikeable and not even in a good way.”
Another replied: “Can’t believe they got rid of Rishi for this character.”
