Emmerdale spoilers: Caleb Milligan makes a confession to Ruby as she secretly brings him down
Ruby Fox-Milligan (Beth Cordingly) is a woman with a double agenda in Emmerdale. Outwardly she wants to repair the relationship between herself and Caleb (William Ash).
The couple were on the brink of divorce – or actually over the brink, from Caleb’s viewpoint – but they recently called off divorce proceedings to try to make a go of their relationship.
What Caleb doesn’t know is that Ruby is secretly working on an agenda all her own.
Devastated by Caleb’s betrayal of her with Tracy Robinson (Amy Walsh) and unwilling to share Caleb with the massed horde of his Dingle family, Ruby is plotting to get her hands on as much of his money as she can get.
And she’s enlisted Kim Tate (Claire King)’s help to do it, as Kim quite fancies taking revenge against the man who did his best to destroy her when he first arrived in the village.
In upcoming episodes, Ruby starts assembling the ammunition she needs to get her plan into action and she spots an opportunity when Caleb is being cagey about the finances of his car company.
Moira (Natalie J. Robb) and Cain (Jeff Hordley) have encouraged Nate to go back to work as a partner in Caleb’s firm, but when Nate talks to Caleb about it, Caleb says he needs to get the accounts in order before Nate looks at them.
Ruby’s ears prick up at this. She knows her husband well enough to know when he’s hiding something and she won’t give up until she finds out what it is.
Reluctantly, Caleb agrees to show her everything.
In the light of what she discovers, Ruby realises that Nate could be the key to bringing Caleb down. Kim has also noticed the awkwardness between Caleb and Nate – unsurprisingly, after Caleb slept with Nate’s wife. Before long, Kim is winding Nate up about Caleb.
When Nate sees Caleb talking to Tracy, he snaps and demands to be bought out of the business. When Caleb says it isn’t possible, things escalate and Nate gets violent.
Kim looks on, satisfied that her plan with Ruby is starting to work.
