Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale is set to reveal the outcome of Charity Dingle’s accidental stabbing of husband Mackenzie Boyd in new scenes.

In an episode scheduled to air on March 6, Mack will be relieved to find out no charges are being pressed by the authorities over the incident.

Earlier this month, Charity accidentally injured Mack during a night terror, believing gangster Damon ‘Harry’ Harris had come back. Charity is still reeling after she accidentally shot and killed the villain while rescuing Mack in a storyline aired last Christmas Day.

After hearing the outcome in the news scenes, Mack goes to hug Charity, who flinches out of his embrace.

Later on, Charity suggests Mack could bring the kids round the following day after she previously asked her partner to take care of them as she didn’t trust herself around them.

Welcoming the kids that afternoon, Charity feels overwhelmed but soldiers on for their benefit. She hesitates to open up about her feelings to Mack, but he’s understanding and they separately sense progress has been made.

Speaking about the dramatic storyline with emmerdalesnews, Charity actress Emma Atkins revealed she’s worked with a psychologist to portray her character’s night terrors accurately.

“She’s not herself. She’s not behaving in a way that somebody would if they’d had a full night’s sleep every single night,” the soap star said. “Sleep deprivation causes all sorts of alarming things to take place in one’s psyche. So once I’d spoken to the psychologist, I thought: ‘Oh my goodness, this sort of thing actually can happen’. I knew that I had to commit and make it as interesting, believable and authentic as possible.”

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
