Mary Goskirk suffers heartbreaking blow as Vanessa Woodfield tempts her ex in Emmerdale
SUZY Merton has caught the eye of Mary Goskirk who has been trying to move on from her previous ill-fated relationship.
Unfortunately, the Emmerdale resident has some competition in the form of Vanessa Woodfield.
Vanessa Woodfield returned to the eponymous ITV village in recent weeks, just as her pal Rhona Goskirk was getting ready to leave for Canada with a kidnapped baby Ivy.
Since her return, the vet portrayed by soap legend Michelle Hardwick has made it clear she was still keen to have a relationship with her ex, Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough).
But the love story, much like the ones that have preceded it in the Dales, may wreak havoc throughout the village as Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson) is just as interested in Suzy as Vanessa.
Coming up next week, Gail Loman (Rachael Gill-Davis) holds karaoke at The Woolpack and Vanessa uses it as an opportunity to sing her way back into Suzy’s heart.
Later on, Vanessa and Suzy kiss, marking a fresh start for their romance as a gutted Mary watches on.
Could she speak up and tell Suzy how she feels?
Mary has been trying to move on from her former girlfriend Faye Helders.
The pair met in early 2023, after Mary came out as a lesbian to her pal Kim Tate and daughter Rhona.
Both Faye and Mary hit it off immediately and, as months went by, they made plans to leave Emmerdale.
At the time, Faye revealed a fire broke out at a women’s shelter abroad and Mary suggested a fundraiser to help.
This caused Suzy Merton to become suspicious as she tried to warn Mary that Faye could still be up to no good.
The wedding planner was proven right when Faye took the money made in the fundraiser for herself, attacking Mary in the process.
Faye managed to escape but eventually returned to the Dales and tried to take advantage of Mary again by using an intimate photo against her.
Mary has had a tough time trusting anybody else in the village following her ordeal with Faye.
Meanwhile, Suzy has been a free agent for several months after Vanessa Woodfield left Emmerdale in late 2022 for a job opportunity in Canada.
Will she decide to give Vanessa another chance?
Or could she be seduced by Mary?
