Angelica King finds out her fate next week on Emmerdale.

On New Year’s Eve, Angelica (Rebecca Bakes) accidentally caused the death of Heath (Sebastian Dowling) when she crashed a car with him inside. Despite originally pinning the blame on Cathy (Gabrielle Dowling), Angelica confessed to the crime.

The teenager was informed by the police that she would likely receive a custodial sentence. In scenes set to air next week, Jimmy (Nick Miles) struggles to lift his spirits as he contemplates Angel’s near-certain departure.

Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) and Jimmy hold back tears as Angel says an emotional goodbye to her family. Later that morning, she’s touched when Bob (Tony Audenshaw) manages to offer her a word of consolation.

The soap star added: “Whilst it’s only eight months, for them, it’s a lifetime. When you’re not there for your daughter and you can’t visit everyday, it’s hell on earth.”

Opening up about the atmosphere on the morning of Angel’s hearing, Nicola, 49, explained: “It’s very very tense. I think it’s the thing of hope for the best but prepare for the worst. Both Nicola and Jimmy are going in with the attitude of, ‘Please don’t say three years’ because that’s what they’ve been told she could get.”

The actress continued: “The last thing we see of Nicola and Jimmy, Angel’s given eight months. They say their goodbyes off-screen and the next conversation the audience sees is Cathy, Bob, Brenda and Wendy discussing the fact Angel gets sent to Bristol. So she’s not local either. They feel very sorry for Nicola and Jimmy because it was always going to be hard watching your daughter get sent down, but now she’s being sent away.”
