Emmerdale spoilers: Hot date for Liam Cavanagh and Ella Forster but someone is not happy
Emmerdale’s very own Dr Love, Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson), looks set for another workplace romance in upcoming episodes as he flirts with new receptionist Ella Forster (Paula Lane).
And, considering that Liam has history in getting frisky with his co-workers, Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker) is a little bit worried about this latest development.
Remember back when Liam and nurse Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson) were at it on the examination couch at every opportunity? And on one occasion, ‘twice in an hour’? If not, apologies for putting that scene in your mind.
But that dalliance ended in mayhem when Wendy’s partner Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) discovered what had been going on and a fight between him and Liam ended up with Bob having a heart attack and having to be defibrillated in the street. By Liam.
Of course Ella isn’t in a relationship with anybody else in the village (as far as we know – this is Emmerdale after all), so there shouldn’t be that kind of complication if she and Liam start seeing each other.
And it certainly looks like that’s the way things are heading after they bond over a shared love of houseplants, and their flirty behaviour is soon noticed by Manpreet – who decides to call a team meeting, presumably to remind the staff about professional boundaries.
Despite Manpreet’s kill-joy concerns, Liam is undeterred and decides to ask Ella out – and he’s thrilled when she agrees to go on a date with him.
When Paula Lane arrived in Emmerdale she teased that a relationship with Liam would be on the cards for Ella – some ‘fireworks’ but also a ‘love triangle.’ It’s not yet clear who the third point of the triangle is going to be.
Of course it wasn’t long ago that Liam was also flirting – and more – with Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter).
In fact it was Liam who discovered the lump in Chas’s breast during an intimate moment that eventually led to Chas’s breast cancer diagnosis.
Chas has enough to deal with without worrying about romance, but with Liam having been a supportive friend during her diagnosis, will she be put out that he’s moved on so quickly?
