Emmerdale star Danny Miller explains change in Aaron and Cain storyline

Emmerdale star Danny Miller has spoken about the ongoing reconciliation between Aaron and Cain Dingle.
The nephew and uncle continue to repair their bond this week as they’re united by concern over Chas’s breast cancer diagnosis.
Aaron and Cain hit rock bottom in January when they had a brutal fight, which ended with Cain in hospital.
More recently, they’ve been brought together in helping Nate Robinson with a revenge plan against Caleb Miligan, which went some way to easing their tensions.
Thursday’s episode (March 14) sees this progress further as Aaron and Cain wait together in hospital as Chas undergoes her surgery. Aaron and Cain are both clearly grateful to have each other there for support.
Speaking to emmerdalesnews.com and other press about the storyline, Danny explained: “Aaron has spent a lot of time goading Cain this year – trying to get Cain to hit him, trying to have a fight with him and just really disrespecting him.
“Throughout all of that, and apart from the fight, I think Cain was always very good at keeping his nerve, being patient with Aaron and not letting him wind him up.
“I think Aaron realises that. This is an opportunity to let bygones be bygones. I think the whole ‘life is too short’ outlook is a fair comment in this instance.
“The possibility of losing someone like his mum is something that Aaron has been dreading, so to have Cain there as a manly support brings them a lot closer together.”
Aaron has also been working on fixing his relationship with his mum Chas after they previously fell out over her affair with Al Chapman.
Danny added: “It’s nice to finally have a bit of the old Aaron back. There is a caring soul in there, but I think he always puts a wall and a guard up about his feelings because he’s terrified that someone’s going to leave him yet again.
“He said it to Mackenzie in one of the scenes: ‘If you don’t have anybody then no-one can hurt you’. That’s why he wants that loner life.
“Now that this has happened with his mum, I think that’s shaken him back into reality. It’s nice that I get to do some nice stuff with Lucy [Pargeter, who plays Chas], instead of just constantly at each other’s throats.”
