Emmerdale favourite Zoe Henry has revealed the one thing she will always put before her husband Jeff Hordley.

Over the past few months, ITV fans have been gripped to their screens after watching her character Rhona Goskirk has embarked on a heart-wrenching storyline. The village vet was left in pieces when she discovered her embryos has been used without her knowledge by her ex-husband Gus (played by Alan McKenna) and his then wife.

It’s fair to say her life was turned upside down when the youngster was born and placed into her care when Gus’ wife died during childbirth. But things got a whole lot worse when her former flame took back custody of their daughter Ivy and shared his plans to move abroad.

It was at this point that the doting mother took matters into her own hands and kidnapped Ivy. Since then, the pair have continued to fight for custody of the newborn, with the little one currently living with her dad away from the village.

She confessed: “I was talking to Jess actually, my husband, the other day about this [the storyline.” Zoe recalled how anxious she felt when Violet was a six-week-old baby.

During one particular incident, the pair paid a visit to a car showroom with her husband and the staff wanted to show the women in the office the newborn tot. Although Zoe agreed to let the staff member carry Violet in her car seat off into the office, she felt extremely uncomfortable.

She told us: “I was like, ‘Oh my God’ I don’t know what I thought she would do but I was pacing up and down the door like a caged tiger waiting for my baby to come back out. And I suppose that’s the only sort of experience I can draw on where I can say that.

“And for my husband in real life, my kids come before anything else, you know. And I go back to that primal instinct, and I think that’s what Rhona has.”

Fans will have to stay tuned to see how this will affect the vet moving forward. Away from the cameras, Zoe is married to the Cain Dingle star after they met at the same drama school together.

She previously revealed: “We got together at drama school. We’ve been together 28 years. Even though we have the connection on set, we were together for 10 years before that as well. We got together in 1994, I believe.”

Zoe and Jeff tied the knot together back in 2003, with the happy couple welcoming their daughter in 2004 followed by their son four years later. The star went on to open up about what it’s like working with her husband on set.

She explained: “It’s important to have a laugh in-between takes so upsetting stories don’t get you down too much. Working on the same show as Jeff, who plays Cain Dingle, also helps because if one of us is having a bad day then the other will completely understand.”

Emmerdale airs on weekdays from 7.30pm on ITV1 or catch up on ITVX.
