Ella Forster’s mystery secret teased in Emmerdale as she reacts oddly following a kiss with Liam Cavanagh

Receptionist Ella Forster (Paula Lane) is a kind-hearted newcomer in Emmerdale.

When she first arrived, she was seen sticking up for Mandy (Lisa Riley) at a vet gala, and also connected with Dawn (Olivia Bromley) when she was struggling to breast feed baby Evan.

In recent weeks, it became apparent Ella had somewhat of a crush on her colleague Liam (Jonny McPherson). This was picked up by Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker), so she decided to host a very awkward team meeting about appropriate behaviour in the workplace.

When Manpreet and Ella had time to themselves, Ella learnt about Liam and Wendy’s (Susan Cookson) affair and how it devastated Bob (Tony Audenshaw). She recognised that Manpreet was just worried about how Liam’s next romance journey would impact other people, but Ella highlighted they wouldn’t be doing anything wrong as they’re both single.

With that, Ella decided to invite Liam to the quiz at the pub after work.

At the bar, Ella got chatting to Leyla and Kerry (Laura Norton) about Liam’s long relationship history.

She seemed a little flustered when Leyla introduced herself as Liam’s ex, and then grew overwhelmed when Kerry joined in and mentioned Bernice (Samantha Giles) and Wendy.

To possibly prevent gossip from spreading, Ella told Kerry and Leyla that her and Liam are just colleagues – nothing more.

However, outside, things were a little different.

As Ella and Liam said bye to each other, they ended up sharing a kiss. Liam was happy with the development but when Ella realised Kerry was behind him, she quickly dashed off for the bus.

Kerry made a joke about Liam being a rubbish kisser but suffice to say he was puzzled by Ella’s swift exit.

Could this simply be because Ella doesn’t want to be at the centre of village chatter?

Or is she hiding a dark secret?
