Emmerdale double exit ‘sealed’ as couple make life-changing decision about future
Emmerdale's Ruby Fox and Caleb Fox could be set to leave the village after the couple made a huge decision about their future in the Dales during Friday's episode
Emmerdale’s Caleb and Ruby Fox might be packing their bags and leaving the Dales for good.
The couple have been thinking hard about what to do next, and it looks like they’ve made a huge choice about their future. In Friday’s episode (on 29 March), we saw Caleb chilling on the sofa when he showed Ruby a picture on his phone.
“Hey check this out, three beds, views right across the city. It’s with a balcony. We loved that flat we got when we were first together,” he said, trying to get her excited. Ruby wasn’t too sure about the idea and even said out loud: “I’m not moving to Manchester. You’re serious about this? “, reports OK!.
Caleb was all for it, saying, “Why not? We’ve got nothing keeping us here.” But Ruby was worried about leaving Nicky behind. She said, “Well Nicky won’t go for it, he’s got Suni – he won’t want to leave here.” Caleb tried to reassure her, “He doesn’t have to, he’s a grown man, he can live his own life now, this is about me and you,” which got Ruby thinking.
Beth Cordingly, who plays Ruby in the show, has opened up about why her character is so drawn to Caleb. The actress shared some backstory explaining why Ruby might seem over the top to viewers. Speaking about Ruby and Caleb’s past, she said: “Caleb was Ruby’s bad boy. They met when they were young, she was from a posh family and she got pregnant with Nicky.
Her family kicked her out and Caleb was all she had. They have a very fiery relationship and sometimes break up but she is so smitten with Caleb. She can’t live without him. There is that unwritten rule that it is OK to have a fling whilst they are on a ‘break’ but not actually fall for anyone else.”
Adding to the story, Beth revealed Ruby doesn’t come to Yorkshire without a mission: “And so when Ruby arrives in Yorkshire, she feels threatened by Tracy. She can see he has feelings for her and she sets out to ruin Tracy. She is a troublemaker, a fireball, and she doesn’t care who she hurts. She also has a quick temper.
“But most of all, she is passionate about Caleb. When they are together, she is on top of the world. Playing such a troublemaker is so fun and it would have been hard to turn this role down as it is quite rare you get offered parts like Ruby at my age. She is so unpredictable! “.
