Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) is in a new relationship in Emmerdale…but he might not be entirely keen.
Following the arrival of Ella (Paula Lane), it soon became apparent she had a crush on her colleague Liam.
Once they established they both had feelings for each other, Liam and Ella decided their first date would be attending the pub quiz together.
While they got on well, afterwards, Liam was confused by a move from Ella.
Outside the pub, after Ella kissed Liam, she spotted Kerry (Laura Norton) watching. She made an excuse and quickly left to catch the bus home, leaving Liam fearing he had done something wrong.
In this new video, Ella approaches Liam, who is on his way into the pub.
She addresses the fact they’ve been seeing each other, and is pleased when Liam says he’s enjoyed her company so far.
The clip is short, but it’s enough to establish Liam is feeling a little bit awkward during the entire conversation.
When Ella spots Chas (Lucy Pargeter) in the distance, she kisses Liam, but is the weird vibe because his heart actually lies with the landlady, rather than the receptionist?
We know Liam cares a lot about Chas, but will he find the courage to tell Ella how he really feels, or accidentally lead her on?
‘Liam and Chas clearly have a past and he really cares for her, the situation is complex’, Paula Lane said.
‘Chas has shown immense strength with the recent breast cancer story and this has connected them on a very deep level. Liam and Ella are a fresh duo, they don’t know each other that well and for now make each other laugh a great deal – of course I’m going to say we make the best couple because it’s mysterious and new!
‘I think Ella would be disappointed that she misread Liam’s intentions if she knew how strong his feelings for Chas really were but would let him go.
