Emmerdale drops the biggest clue yet that serial killer Meena Jutla is returning
Emmerdale fans are convinced that serial killer Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) is set to return to the eponymous village after a huge hint in a recent episode.
Ever since her arrival in the village, Ella Forster (Paula Lane) has sparked suspicions among fans that there is more to her character than meets the eye, with many wondering if she has an ulterior motive for coming to the Emmerdale village.
The doctor’s surgery receptionist first arrived in the ITV soap earlier this year, striking up friendships with Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) and Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley).
She cemented herself as a goodie when defending the latter, who was being scorned by Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) for breastfeeding in The Woolpack.
Since then, she’s flirted with Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) as they bonded over a love of houseplants and clashed with Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker).
Ella seems to have a natural curiosity, but the nature of her questions left viewers wondering if she had sinister links to the village – namely, Manpreet’s evil sister Meena Jutla.
Meena wreaked havoc on the village when she killed Liam’s daughter Leanna, Andrea Tate and Ben Tucker.
She’d also murdered two people prior to moving to the Dales.
When Ella quizzed Dawn and Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) about the time they were kidnapped by Meena after the topic came up following Tom King and Belle Dingle’s (James Chase and Eden Taylor-Draper) disastrous nuptials, fans began to wonder if there was a connection between them.
This speculation continued after a recent scene which saw Ella grow cagey when love interest and colleague Liam began to ask about her friends and family, after she mentioned an old friend who suggested that she become a nurse.
What does Ella have to hide?
We know that Meena was responsible for murdering Liam’s beloved daughter Leanna, so it would make sense that if there was a connection between Meena and Ella that she maybe wouldn’t want to reveal it.
Following their awkward conversation, fans took to social media to put forward their theories, with many predicting a return for the serial killer.
Twitter/X user Emma suggested that Ella knows Meena, while @conFUSION1972 believes that Ella is ‘up to something’ and is set to cause destruction in the village.
Meanwhile, Matt suspects that Meena is set to return soon, given her supposed connection to Ella, while @LoveRealityTV4 thought Ella’s ‘mystery ex friend’ was ‘interesting’.
