ITV Emmerdale viewers ‘work out’ worrying Ruby twist after tense scenes with Caleb

Emmerdale fans believe there could be more going on with Ruby Fox-Miligan than has been revealed.

The character lost control on the ITV soap on Thursday night, as she once again fumed at the Dingles over their treatment of her husband Caleb Miligan. Ever since their reunion weeks ago, the pair have constantly argued with Ruby constantly needing reassurance.

She’s opened up previously about Caleb abandoning her and cheating on her, while she’s desperate for him to love her and prioritise her over anyone else. The fact he’s desperate to get to know his long-lost family has left Ruby feeling sidelined and as though she’s no longer needed.

From taunts and dropping him in it, to their showdowns, things have got pretty fiery between the pair in recent episodes. The same could be said for Thursday’s visit to the Dales, when Ruby accidentally hurt Caleb’s sister Chas Dingle just weeks on from her undergoing a double mastectomy.

Ruby had been slamming Chas and the Dingles before dropping the bombshell that she and Caleb had witnessed Cain’s prison sentencing back in 2022, around the time Caleb tried to track them all down. The Dingles have disowned him after he slept with his nephew Nate Robinson’s wife Tracy Metcalfe.

As things got heated in the latest episode and Ruby fumed at his family, she ended up lashing out at her husband once more. This time, Chas got caught in the crossfire leaving her and the others stunned.

Caleb told Ruby after that she should leave and move away without him, as he wasn’t going anywhere with her. Ruby was desperate to fix things between them, but he called her toxic and claimed she constantly kicked off without letting him talk.

As she reminded him she left her family for him, he said she was “boring” for going on about it, before telling her everything was always “about her”. He told her he was sick of her, and the months he spent without her were his happiest as he felt “young and free”.

But as Caleb told her to leave, viewers speculated whether there was more to the plot and perhaps Ruby could be manipulating and controlling her husband. One fan posted: “I think Ruby is a controller like Tom but at this point obviously Tom is a lot worse.

“I think it could go down that road with Ruby and Caleb like Tom and belle.” Another agreed: “Ruby is emotionally manipulating Caleb. Why is no one talking about this?”
