Emmerdale star Zoe Henry has opened up about more twists ahead in the Rhona and Gus storyline as he faces court tonight for stealing Rhona's embryos
Emmerdale star Zoe Henry has detailed more about Rhona’s huge decision as Gus faces jail.
Tonight, viewers will see Gus up in court for stealing the embryos he and Rhona froze when they were together several years ago. Fans of the ITV soap will know that Gus ended up having the baby with his wife, who sadly passed away in childbirth.
He struggled with the arrival of little Ivy amid his own terrible loss and it has been difficult for him to manage. Rhona later kidnapped the child, amid fears he would take her away to France, leading them to this moment.
During a chat on Lorraine today, actress Zoe Henry – who plays Rhona – teased there would be some huge twists ahead in the big storyline, which kicks off tonight when Gus faces court – and potentially – prison for what he’s done.

Speaking on the show today, Zoe shared: “It’s one of those storylines that doesn’t have a blueprint of how to play it or find your way through it. So I’ve had to go with my gut instinct and being a parent and working off of that.
“It’s been great fun to play, we’ve had such a wonderful journey with it. I think what’s interesting about it is like when we’re on set and we talk about it, nobody’s a winner, nobody’s a baddie, and actually Rhona has behaved badly in this storyline too. It’s an instinct and that’s what I’ve had to base where Rhona is coming from. This maternal instinct has kicked in.”
She added: “She put having more kids to bed; she had a hysterectomy five years ago. It’s like a ghost of Christmas past when the baby she thought would never happen is here. It’s been great having a baby back on set too.”
Zoe is loving having a baby on the set. Speaking about the newest addition to the show, she quipped: “She is upstaging us! She’s adorable. Her mum is so chilled. She is so relaxed and Alice is so much more better behaved than my kids ever were.”
Actress Zoe has opened up about the tough storyline in the past, explaining that she has received comments both praising and criticising Rhona. She explained that everyone is very divided about the storyline and their own thoughts on it.
