Emmerdale Moira and Ruby link ‘sealed’ as fans wowed by unrecognisable appearance

Emmerdale fans believe they have worked out a hidden link between Moira Barton and Ruby Fox-Milligan after spotting the pair working together in a rival ITV soap

Emmerdale fans were forced to do a double take after one eagle-eyed viewer spotted a hidden link between two beloved villagers on the ITV soap.

Loyal fans of the ITV soap have been glued to their screens over the past few weeks after Caleb Milligan’s (Will Ash) ex-wife Ruby (Beth Cordingly) moved to the village. The former flames have been at each other’s throats as the blonde bombshell attempted to rekindle her relationship with him.

But the silver fox was determined to turn over a new leaf and grow closer to his long-lost family, The Dingles. But one of the main villagers the blonde bombshell has been sparring with is none other that fan-favourite Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb).

The fair first got off on the wrong foot when Ruby threw a dinner party and found herself offended when Moira incorrectly assumed she had ordered food in for the family affair. Things between the two have only got worse as Caleb and Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) continue to fight on the soap.

But they weren’t the only people landing punches this week, when Ruby tactfully punched Cian in the crotch. This soon prompted Moira to warn her that if she tried that again, the farmer would be the one to hit back.

Ruby’s jibes about who was better in the sack, Cain or Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) only set Moira more on edge. And now that Ruby has made up with Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker), the blonde beauty is in new of a new enemy to torture, and it appears as though Moira is the luck lady.

But viewers may be surprised to learn that this isn’t the first time the two powerhouses have worked together. In fact, one eagle-eyed viewer noticed the pair had previously worked on another rival soap together.

Taking to Reddit, one user under the name Big-Explanation-831 shared a clip in which the two soap stars faced off against each other while starring on The Bill together back in the early noughties. In the clip, taken from the episode titled Going Native which aired in 2004, Kerry Young (played by Beth) finally confronts Andrea Dunbar (played by Natalie) and accuses her of selling stories to the press.

The two actresses look world’s away from their characters in the Dales as they donned the famous black and white police uniforms in the station. It didn’t take long before things got heated between the pair as the blonde beauty called her Andrea out for working as a journalist while posing as a police officer to get the latest news from the station.

Fans soon flooded to the comments to share their surprise that the ITV stars had worked together in the past. One user penned: “I recognised and remembered Moira but never realised that Ruby and Kerry were played by the same actress.”

Another pointed out: “Wow they are both so young here” as a third echoed: “Ahah that’s why Ruby’s been bugging me, I’ve not watched The Bill in years.” A fourth chimed in with: “Ruby Milligan and Moira Barton’s origin story.

They’re actually in cahoots on taking down Cain and Caleb together. That would make a decent story [cry-laughing emoji].” Meanwhile, a fifth argued: “I’ve just realised through watching that clip that Ruby doesn’t actually have a job, she’d suit [being] a policewoman lol.”

Fans will have to stay tuned to see what madness Ruby and Moira will find themselves in next in the ITV Dales. Emmerdale airs on weeknights from 7.30pm on ITV1 or catch up on ITVX.
