Tensions have been high among a number of couples lately
AN EMMERDALE couple teeter on the verge of collapse after a villager spots a drunken kiss outside The Woolpack in scandalous scenes.
The first visit of the week to the Dales saw tensions remain between Marlon Dingle and Rhona Goskirk after Rhona’s actions at Gus’ court hearing the previous week.
It also saw Billy Fletcher worry about wife Dawn after she failed to open up about the sudden appearance of her estranged mum Rose.
And things were still awkward between Manpreet Sharma and partner Charles Anderson after she turned down his proposal a few weeks ago.
Instead of going for lunch with Charles, Manpreet headed for drinks at the pub with the girls, including Mandy Dingle, Ella Forster and Charles’ mum Claudette.
The women – apart from Claudette – knocked back the drinks before being joined by Billy.
Manpreet recently signed up to be one of Billy’s clients at his new personal trainer business, and has developed a crush on him.
Ella clocked her flirting with Billy while in the pub, and took her outside for a chat, where Manpreet admitted she had developed a crush on the younger man.
Ella told her not to act on it, before they headed back inside for more drinks, but later, Manpreet caught up with Billy outside the pub.
Struggling to stay on her feet, she grabbed hold of his arm and begged him to stay.
She said: “You’re kind, and you’re lovely and you’ve been so good for me, and I want you to know that.”
She then kissed him on the cheek before adding: “And you’ve given me back a bit of sparkle, so thanks again.”
Manpreet then lunged at Billy to kiss him on the lips but he stopped her and said: “Get off me, what are you doing?”
Mortified, Manpreet apologised, but Billy told her: “Just because you and Charles aren’t getting on doesn’t mean you can do this.”
He then left, leaving Manpreet to wish the ground had swallowed her up, not realising that Claudette had witnessed the whole embarrassing exchange.
