Twisted Tom King’s (James Chase) reign of terror over wife Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) life is set to continue next week in a dramatic, special Emmerdale episode.

It’s been a horrific few months for Belle, and despite the warning signs during their engagement, she still went ahead with their wedding and has continued to ignore the abuse Tom has put her through.

His cruel actions have spiralled from verbal remarks to forcing her to have sex with him and attacking her good friend Vinny (Bradley Johnson), leaving him for dead.

Following fears that she has fallen pregnant, Belle sneaks off to an appointment at the surgery to organise a contraceptive prescription.

Anxiously explaining to Dr Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker) that she doesn’t want it being sent to Dale Head, like the rest of her medication, and the two find a solution.

Meanwhile, at the vets practice, Tom feels patronised by colleague Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick) when she mentions the fact he gave a dog a misdiagnosis.

Luckily, she and Paddy (Dominic Brunt) arrive in the nick of time to save the poor animal and confirm that it just has an abscess, and not cancer.

When the angry owner leaves with their pet, Tom begins to play the victim and implies that he’s never felt welcomed at work since Vanessa returned from Canada earlier this year.

However, in a blink of an eye, he changes his tune and invites all of the staff and their partners to a dinner party at his and Belle’s house.

After his terrible day, he returns home and asserts to Belle that if the meal is a failure, then it will be her fault.

Things go from bad to worse the following evening, with everyone enjoying themselves around the table, she excuses herself saying the onions have made her cry – but its evident that the emotional rollercoaster of her marriage is now starting to get the better of her.
