Emmerdale spoilers: Kim’s new enemy Rose has dastardly secret as she closes in
Rose Jackson (Christine Tremarco) has been a thorn in Kim Tate (Claire King)’s side ever since she first appeared in Emmerdale. The character, who is the mum of Dawn Fletcher (Olivia Bromley) and the ex of Kim’s husband Will Taylor (Dean Andrews), first appeared last month when she was involved in an accident.
Will was summoned to the hospital as he was down as her next of kin, but after a few harsh words he hoped that would be the last he’d see of her. However it wasn’t long before Rose was making
her way to the village, determined to try to make amends with Dawn, the daughter she’d walked out on when she was only five years old.
Sensing that Rose was trouble – and not relishing the idea of Will’s ex hanging around – Kim tried to pay her to leave but Rose would not be budged. Although Dawn was hostile to her at first she’s recently been leaning on her for support as she deals with her baby son Evan’s leukaemia treatment.
Dawn invited Rose to stay at Home Farm and she’s made herself very comfortable there. Kim’s coffee and alcohol bill must be through the roof as Rose helps herself to plentiful quantities of both.
There’s no doubt that Rose is an annoyance to Kim but so far it’s seemed as though she genuinely does want to get to know dawn and her grandchildren and make some kind of amends for being a useless mother to Dawn.
But in Wednesday (May 22)’s episode, a mysterious new layer was added to Rose Jackson when we saw her in the Woolpack talking to an unknown person on the phone.
‘They’re starting to accept me, but let’s take our time on this,’ she told the other person. ‘No point rushing.’
Intriguing! It seems that Rose has a secret agenda and it most likely involves a plot against Kim Tate as Rose is keen to be accepted into the family before she makes her move.
This all has echoes of when Caleb Miligan (William Ash) first came to the village and we found out he was secretly plotting to destroy Kim.
Interestingly there has previously been just a little hint that Caleb and Rose have some sort of connection when she suggested going to the Woolpack for a drink with him and he seemed confused.
Was Rose talking to Caleb on the phone in this episode? Could they be plotting together against Kim? Or is there someone else who’s out to get Kim Tate?
