Emmerdale’s Belle frightened by sudden change in Tom after she drops a life-changing bombshell
Tom King’s (James Chase) sudden change in his personality during Tuesday’s (June 11) episode of Emmerdale left Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) – and us – terrified.
At the start of this week, Belle paid a visit to the surgery to see Wendy (Susan Cookson), where it was confirmed she is pregnant.
When Belle and Tom previously spoke about having children, it was established Belle felt she wasn’t ready to become a mum, while Tom couldn’t wait for the opportunity to be a father.
Sadly, Belle has been coerced by Tom into saying that she’s ready for them to become a family, meaning she’s had to go along with his excitement surrounding raising their own child. When she discovered the positive pregnancy test, Belle became incredibly anxious and opened up to Wendy about it.
She wanted to know her options and hoped to make a decision on what to do before Tom found out.
In tonight’s episode of the ITV soap, Tom was in the village being confronted by Cain (Jeff Hordley). He had found out that Tom had sold Belle’s car and when Tom revealed how much he got for it, Cain called him a ‘plonker’ and said he would’ve got a lot more money if he sold it through his garage.
When Tom returned home, he found Wendy talking to Belle. She quickly left, leaving Tom to confront Belle about his conversation with her brother.
Tom accused Belle of talking about him behind his back but of course, that wasn’t the case. Just as his anger grew, Tom was moments away from hitting Belle, but she then blurted out that she’s pregnant, which stopped him.
In the aftermath, it was like Tom was a completely different person. He smiled and spoke about how happy he is with Belle’s news, and even said he would dash upstairs to fetch a jumper so she didn’t get cold.
Later, on a walk with Piper, Tom’s positive mood continued. He admitted to Belle that he’s not been the best husband as of late, but wants to change and do everything he can to look after her and their baby.
While Belle smiled and looked surprised by Tom’s comments, she also looked incredibly uncomfortable. Just how long will Tom keep his promise about being a better person?
Given Belle is in the very early stages of her pregnancy, she still has time to make a decision on whether to continue it or not.
If she chooses the latter, how will Tom react?
