Emmerdale Shocker: Ella Forster’s Near-Death Escape Leads to Jaw-Dropping Life-Changing Realisation
Ella Forster (Paula lane) got herself into serious trouble in recent Emmerdale scenes when she punched Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson) and ended up in police custody.
Already overwhelmed by the prospect of celebrating her 30th birthday, things took a turn for the worse for Ella when June’s nephew Gary arrived to taunt her about Joanne’s murder.
When Wendy offered her support, Ella lashed out – and Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) later worked out why.
After Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) organised a solicitor for Ella, he sat down with Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) and Manpreet, who pointed out that Ella may have deliberately lashed out to get herself arrested, as she feels safest in prison.
‘Ella attacked Wendy because she felt there was no way out,’ actress Paula Lane also explained. ‘Wendy’s kind words about people caring for her struck Ella hard. She finds it difficult to believe that could ever be the case.
‘She’s frustrated that this new place she now calls home will always know her real identity. There is no hiding in prison, that bizarrely is her safe place and she knows exactly what to do to get back there.’
At the police station, Ella went against the solicitors advice and told police everything. Meanwhile, Liam and Manpreet went on a mission to talk to Wendy.
Wendy admitted that Ella had terrified her, as she didn’t know what she was going to do. However, as Liam and Manpreet explained Ella’s thought process, they managed to convince her to drop the charges.
When Ella returned to the village, she admitted that she thought she had wanted to go back to prison, but when she was released she was relieved.
She explained to Mandy and Liam that she had only returned to the village because she didn’t have anywhere else to go, and that she wasn’t sure they’d want her around.
However, they both argued that she was more than welcome, and when Ella asked to stay at the salon for a few days until she found something else, Liam offered her his spare room.
Ella accepted the offer, but will she be able to settle back into life in the village?
‘I hope for her she can move on but the trauma she has experienced will forever be a lasting scar,’ Paula said. ‘It will take the right people around her to help support her to enable her to have a happy future.’
