Emmerdale Zak Dingle’s secret love child ‘exposed’ – and fans know exactly who she is
Emmerdale viewers are convinced the late Zak Dingle has a secret love child in the village - and it could be with one of the soap's beloved characters
Soap fans are convinced that Emmerdale’s Zak Dingle has a mystery love child with another Dales favourite – and they reckon the offspring is already among the village folk.
Telly stalwart Zak was written out of the soap recently following his sad death – his funeral scenes airing this week on the TV. Off-screen, Steve Halliwell, the actor who played the iconic character, sadly died in December last year at 77.
With Zak’s departure, the soap have crafted a poignant death storyline. Over to the Dales, despite being absent, Zak’s been talked about as he took up residence in Scotland with his granddaughter Debbie (Charley Webb).
But this week, Emmerdale was shaken as it was revealed Zak had died. In Monday’s tearjerker (October 14), Moira (Natalie J. Robb) broke the news of Zak’s demise to her hubby Cain (Jeff Hordley), reports Leeds Live.
Cain set about the grim task of relating the tragic news to villagers. An emotive montage paired with piano tunes saw him divulge Zak’s death to the likes of Charity (Emma Atkins), Chas (Lucy Pargeter), Marlon (Mark Charnock), and Mandy (Lisa Riley).
And it wasn’t just family feeling the impact – even Kim Tate (Claire King) was visibly distraught over Zak’s passing and it hit her hard, momentarily pausing her long-running spat with estranged hubby Will Taylor (Dean Andrews).
In a heartfelt moment, she reminisced: “Zak knew exactly what was important in life. Family, they came first and they came last. He put family above anything.”
However, fans are now speculating that Kim and Zak might have shared more than just friendship after hints of a past romance or even a shock love child emerged. Viewers have been spinning theories including the bombshell idea that Zak might have a secret offspring with a Dales legend, potentially hiding in plain sight.
One fan speculated on an Emmerdale Facebook fan group: “Why is Kim so upset about the passing of Zak? ” To which someone responded: “Because Zac had time for Kim they understood each other.”
Another theorist joined in, suggesting a secret progeny: “What if all along Kim had a secret child with Zak that he knew nothing about. Kim gave the kid up for adoption and she arrives in the village at Christmas….”
This concept caught on among the fans, prompting one to exclaim: “Now this would be a twist!” Another sharp-eyed viewer suggested how this mysterious child could be the recently arrived Ella Forster (by Paula Lane).
Drawing connections, a commenter posted: “I think the secret child could be Ella,” earning nods from another who added: “Could be, we don’t actually know that much about her past (apart from her being a child killer).”
