Poor Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) is utterly exhausted in Emmerdale. After being abused by her husband Tom King (James Chase) for the best part of a year, Belle revealed her ordeal to the Dingles, hoping she’d finally be able to move forward.

Sadly, that hasn’t been the case.

After Tom was arrested, he realised the police hadn’t taken all of his electrical devices because he had lost one. His solicitor instructed him to find the tablet that had proof he had been watching Belle via hidden cameras and destroy it.

With that, he set about manipulating his cousin Carl (Charlie Munro Joyce) to find out where the device had gone. Tom broke into Butlers, found the tablet and later smashed the screen with a rock, but failed to spot Carl watching from his bedroom window.

This left Tom feeling very smug indeed. He found Belle outside and was confident their trial would result in her going to prison and him getting away with absolutely everything.

As if that wasn’t enough to deal with, Belle and the rest of the Dingle family learnt a few days later that their beloved Zak (Steve Halliwell) had died.

Coming up, Belle is upset when Mandy (Lisa Riley) inadvertently reveals that Cain (Jeff Hordley) had told Zak about Tom’s abuse, which leaves her struggling at the fact they discussed her ordeal behind her back.

When a bunch of condolence flowers arrive at Wishing Well without a note, Belle convinces herself they are from Tom.

With Lydia (Karen Blick) and Sam (James Hooton) growing increasingly concerned for Belle, the character is later seen breaking her bail conditions and confronting Tom.

DS Foy arrives and arrests Belle, leaving her reeling.

In the police interview room, as Belle’s conversation gets underway, she is given a warning by Foy, who says that if she contacts Tom again, she will be going to prison.

Returning home, Belle appears calm on the outside but inside her head is a cacophony of voices. Completely overwhelmed, Belle sits with noise, desperate to hear the calming voice of her father.

With Belle at her lowest point, what will happen next?
