EastEnders dropped a bombshell on Monday night as Nish Panesar discovered The Six’s secret.

Soap fans will remember that during the holiday season, The Six – consisting of Denise Fox (Diane Parish), Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) and Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) – banded together to conceal a murder.

In the thrilling episode, Suki’s abusive spouse Nish (Navin Chowdhry) attempted to prevent her from leaving him for her lover Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) as he became violent. The Six intervened, with Denise hitting him over the head with a Champagne bottle.

Believing he was dead, he was revived but during the dramatic scenes, Sharon’s rejected suitor Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) arrived and tried to take her son, Albie, where he started to strangle Sharon which led to Linda stabbing him. The Six all united to hide the murder and pinned it on vile rapist Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo).

However, during a nail-biting court hearing, the case collapsed when Dean confessed to raping Linda meaning the trial would have to be dismissed due to the new evidence. Dean is now behind bars and the investigation into Keanu’s murder has been reopened, reports the Manchester Evening News.

On Monday’s episode, Nish started to grow suspicious of The Six after he overheard a clandestine chat between Kathy and Suki after the women learnt they were to be re-interviewed by the police. Later, he rumbled the women’s meeting as they tried to remember their statements from Christmas.

A suspicious Nish was adamant something was dodgy but the women insisted they have nothing to hide. To make matters worse, Nish insisted on travelling with the group to the police station where he and the women were re-interviewed by DCI Arthurs on the events of Christmas.

DCI Arthurs tried to rumble the women but they managed to stick to their stories. Later, Nish headed to see his ex-wife Suki, convinced she was hiding something, and he managed to steal her phone to coax a confession out of Kathy.

Later, Nish arrived back at Suki’s where he confronted her about the truth over what really happened at Christmas, leaving Suki completely stunned.

Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers were quick to point out a ‘creepy’ Nish Panesar detail as they feared a dark twist. One person said: “Suki having Eve’s birthday as her passcode so cute. Kinda creepy that Nish has Eve’s birthday memorised, though. #EastEnders #Sukeve” while a different account put: “”Choosing Eve’s Birthday as your passcode” Really Nish & that’s got what to do with him exactly? Other than the fact he’s somehow memorised his Ex-Wife’s Fiance’s Birthday is obviously hella f**king creepy is it not no? #Eastenders #SukEve.”

Meanwhile, other soap watchers feared a worrying twist as one person said: “His last act before he goes is going to be to try and destroy their relationship isn’t it. Now whether he succeeds (TEMPORARILY) or not is another thing #Eastenders #Sukeve” while a different account wrote: “Whatever Nish’s plan is surely it has to have repercussions for all of #TheSix and not just Suki #Eastenders.”

EastEnders continues Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on both BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
