Billy Fletcher’s Life on the Line: Ross Barton’s Return Shakes Emmerdale!

After six years, Ross Barton returned to Emmerdale in an unlicensed fight with Billy Fletcher. But after this Tuesday's trip to the ITV village, his fate may now be sealed.

Concern is growing for Billy Fletcher as the hunk was given a chilling threat and Ross Barton may be involved in his potential downfall.

Emmerdale viewers have grown worried for the family man portrayed by Jay Kontzle after he was revealed to take part in unlicensed fights to make ends meet, with multiple soap fans speculating he may die as the result of a severe injury in the ring, leaving his wife Dawn and their children behind.

Billy’s fate was left in the balance on Monday when Ross Barton (Mike Parr) returned to the eponymous village as his opponent but this Tuesday, October 29, Billy was able to knock him out with help from Mackenzie Boyd and Aaron Dingle. Though he won the fight against Ross, his promoter Jade was far from happy as it became clear Billy was never supposed to win.

Happy to have won the fight, despite Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) letting him know trouble could be on the way, Billy demanded his cash from Jade (Twinnie-Lee Moore) but she quickly snapped at him, warning him he had made a wrong move by crossing her. Billy has been seen with nasty injuries in recent Emmerdale scenes as a result of his underground boxing.

In previous scenes of the Yorkshire-based programme, Billy hinted he had been stabbed in the match while he said it was an accident. He claimed when he was body slammed he felt something sharp hit him, but assured this wasn’t a common incident.

Downplaying his injuries, Billy admitted he planned to compete in more fights and that he wasn’t usually harmed. But as John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) assessed him, he warned another fight could lead to him dying. And Ross’ volatile nature may make things worse.

A new theory now suggests that Billy may be forced to fight Ross again as Jade may coerce him into facing his opponent again. Ross, who has been branded an “undefeated champion” on the ring , could then get his revenge on Billy, beating him badly enough for Billy to sustain life-threatening injuries in a bid to keep his reputation and title intact.

While this only remains a possibility, viewers are also certain that Ross could wreak havoc in Charity Dingle’s (Emma Atkins) rocky marriage with Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) as he battles for his son Moses’ affection.

Prior to his thunderous return, Ross had not been seen in the eponymous village since 2018, when he left the Dales alongside Rebecca White for a fresh start in Liverpool. And Mack’s apparent dread was enough for viewers to speculate another affair was ahead.

“It’s 4years tomorrow that charity cheated on love of her life with mcrat I’m all for her cheating on said mcrat with ross @emmerdale #emmerdale #vanity”, one of them wrote on Twitter, now X, in reference to Charity’s former relationship with Vanessa Woodfield.

Another echoed: “Ross and Charity are deffo gonna sleep together!!! The dreaded marriage is gonna end #Emmerdale”, just as one soap fan penned: “I cannot wait for Ross and Charity scenes omg #emmerdale.” But will it really result in an affair?
