EastEnders Stacey Slater’s heartbreaking fate ‘revealed’ ahead of Lacey Turner exit

EastEnders viewers are anticipating a sad exit for Stacey Slater on the BBC soap, ahead of actress Lacey Turner leaving the role temporarily.

Lacey recently announced her pregnancy, meaning at some point she will be written out of the show as she heads off on maternity leave. But how will she leave the show and will she be back?

It’s thought the actress isn’t leaving for good, meaning bosses will have to come up with a way of writing her out for the time she is off. What this means for Stacey remains unclear for the time being, with it not known when her final scenes will air.

Now, viewers are convinced dramatic scenes this week have sealed a sad fate for the character, and teased a heartbreaking exit plot. Stacey and the rest of The Six are under threat after Nish Panesar figured out the truth about Keanu Taylor’s Christmas murder.

Kathy Beale accidentally spilled the beans amid Nish’s plan to destroy his estranged wife Suki Panesar’s happiness with Eve Unwin, bitter and jealous that she ditched him for her true love. The villain has finally got the leverage he needs to make her life hell, with the women involved in the murder now fearing the worst.

Viewers will recall that Keanu died after Linda Carter stabbed him, with her trying to stop him from killing Sharon Watts. The women then buried the corpse and covered up the crime, before framing Dean Wicks.

With the police clearly not convinced Dean was to blame, they have begun questioning the women again, testing their stories, while also quizzing Nish. Nish was attacked by Denise Fox and left in a coma that same night, and it was Nish’s presumed murder that led to Keanu trying to flee with Sharon’s son Albie – resulting in his showdown with Sharon that led to his demise.

It’s almost a year on and with Nish now threatening to tell the police everything, will one of the women be forced to take the blame? Fans certainly think so, with many suggesting Stacey will claim to be the killer to protect the other women.

This would allow bosses to write out actress Lacey, giving Stacey time off screen while her family and kids remain in Walford. One fan suggested: “I think Stacey could take the fall as she’s pregnant in real life. She might come out of it to have her baby, we don’t know.” Another agreed: “I think Stacey will take the blame for killing Keanu.”
