There’s nothing more terrifying than someone who’s already unhinged hitting self-preservation mode. Enter Emmerdale’s Tom King (James Chase), who’s desperate and angry, a lethal combination.

The village is now turning against Tom, which does not sit well with the narcissist who actually seems to believe he’s done nothing wrong.

He was disgusted when they teamed up to create a ‘Guy’ for the bonfire that looked just like him. Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) is against him, Jimmy (Nick Miles) has his doubts, and the police know he’s guilty and will stop at nothing to find the evidence.

What a joy it was when DS Foy wiped the smile off his face when he slapped the tablet down on the table. If only it had done so permanently.

Tom knows he is on borrowed time and is pulling out all the stops to save himself. Intimidation is all he has left.

He’s been unseated from the family home by Angelica’s (Rebecca Bakes) return meaning he’s already feeling displaced and on the back foot.

He’s desperate to regain control, so he sets his sights on a new target – someone he can truly intimidate and get one over, Paddy.

Any normal person would move on from a job where they are seriously not wanted. But not Tom. Tom has to win.

Having already threatened Rhona (Zoe Henry) with legal action after she told him to start looking for a new job, Tom finds a new way to pressure the vets into taking him back.

He aims for Paddy (Dominic Brunt) and resorts to blackmail.

Tom takes Paddy to one side with a nasty threat – hire him back, or Tom will reveal the practice’s dirty secrets for all to see.

With the business at stake, Paddy is in a quandary – will he be forced to relent and allow Tom’s return to save their reputation?
