Emmerdale’s Jurell Carter has revealed his new role following a surprising exit from the ITV soap.

Earlier this year, Jurell’s character Nate Robinson left the village suddenly.

He was initially planning on leaving for a new job in Shetland alongside Tracy (Amy Walsh) and their daughter Frankie, but a situation with Moira (Natalie J Robb) that saw Cain (Jeff Hordley) wonder if they were sleeping together again put a halt on those plans.

With that, Nate packed his bags and departed alone, failing to really say goodbye to anyone.

Following his farewell from the soap, Jurell has been busy working on some advertisements in time for the festive period.

He took to Instagram to share them with his followers, confirming he has been working with retailer Sephora and voicing the ads, which sees four people debate what to get their co-worker/partner/family for Christmas.

‘Had the pleasure of voicing the new @sephora Christmas ads 🎄❤️’, he wrote alongside.

Due to the fact Nate never had an on-screen exit, it initially left many Emmerdale fans wondering if he had left the village at all.

His departure happened at the same time as Moira and Ruby’s (Beth Cordingly) barn fire, leaving some to speculate he had got trapped in the flames and died.

When the Dingle family gathered for Zak’s (Steve Halliwell) funeral, a conversation between Cain and Caleb (William Ash) saw Nate mentioned, which suggests he is living in Shetland and beginning a new life after all.

But this is Emmerdale and a soap after all. We didn’t see Nate leave – he could be anywhere.

Could a twist be on the way soon?

Speaking about his exit, Jurell said: ‘The character of Nate and myself share a mindset of wanting to go onto a next chapter, but also just being emotional and sad over leaving everything behind. That’s how I feel as an actor, in terms of leaving a show that I love.

‘I would speak to some of my colleagues and say it’s a weird one, because it’s not like I hate my job, it’s not like I hate my surroundings or the people that I’m working with. I love everyone and I love the job.

‘I’m excited for my future but I’m also sad to be leaving behind such a beautiful show and beautiful people.’
