Emmerdale spoilers: Kerry Wyatt’s big secrets and new love revealed in chaotic return

Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) is back baby and making a bigger bang than Faith’s firework in Emmerdale.

She quit the village for a life on cruise ships after boyfriend Al was murdered and it was revealed he had been having an affair with her friend Chas (Lucy Pargeter).

So what could possibly bring her back to the village now?

Her old ways, that’s what. Her dream job was always going to end in tears because, let’s face it, it’s Kerry. And as actress Laura Norton says herself, ‘it’s quite an entrance she makes’. We’d expect nothing less.

Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) and Matty (Ash Palmisciano) are thrilled to finally set a date for their wedding, it’s the good news they’ve been needing. But their high is short lived when an unexpected visitor lands on their doorstep – PC Swirling with a guilty-looking Kerry in tow – dressed as Cher.

Gifting us with the most beautiful mental image, Laura tells Metro.co.uk: ‘So we’ve got the full Cher regalia, which is stockings, heels, hot pants, mesh leotard, and leather jacket with all the fringe and obviously a wig – just an amazing sort of interpretation of Cher.’

What a re-entrance to the village. PC Swirling leaves it up to Kerry to explain her unexpected arrival. Kerry tells a shocked Amy that she has been falsely accused of stealing by her fiancé. Another bombshell casually dropped – Kerry has been busy getting affianced instead of supporting her kids in their hours of need.

A row ensues between mother and daughter, with Amy clearly and understandably very sceptical by Kerry’s side of the tale.

Laura explained: ‘She’s just up to her old tricks and she can’t help herself, she makes a few bad decisions and she’s being a bit naughty, but all in the name of fun, most of it, I think.’

Kerry shows Amy the affection she’s craved from her mother and Amy softens, coming around to the idea that Kerry for once has been wrongly accused and that she truly plans to be back for good. But is Kerry just manipulating Amy once again?

Laura teased what’s up next as part of Kerry’s return.

‘She just wants to have fun and live her life and be with a family,’ she said, suggesting a strong start for Kezza.

‘But I can tell she’s just in that mode where she’s just going to make a bad decision after bad decision after bad decision. So, I just feel like there’s gonna be a few mishaps. Possibly?’.
