Emmerdale legend threatened with the police as his unruly behaviour spirals out of control

Eric Pollard’s (Chris Chittell) actions might come back to bite him after the Emmerdale legend commandeered one of Caleb Miligan’s (William Ash) trucks, with huge consequences following.

The ITV soap stalwart was left seething when he was woken from his slumber to witness several large trucks going up and down the road on the way to Caleb’s new firm, which is just days away from opening.

Determined to get some answers, Eric stopped Will Taylor (Dean Andrews), who wasdriving one of the vehicles, wasting little time in telling him just how intrusive the trucks are to the people that live on this particular road.

Will wasn’t in the mood for listening, telling Eric that he’s simply doing his job, urging him to get used to the situation since this is only just the beginning of Caleb’s new empire.

Infuriated, Eric made a beeline for the depot, where he relayed his concerns to Caleb, who wasn’t remotely fazed, assuring Eric that all the appropriate checks had been carried out and he’d been given the go-ahead from the council.

Feeling like no-one was listening to him, Eric decided to take a stand, hopping into one of Caleb’s vans.

Caleb tried to talk Eric down before any damage was done but it was too late, with Eric reversing the vehicle into some of the businessman’s stock.

Will was concerned for Eric, who was shaking after the incident. Eric claimed it was ‘with laughter’, but it was actually because he was experiencing a hand tremor due to the heightened stress of the situation.

Caleb, outraged, paid Eric a visit at David’s shop later in the evening, telling him to leave well enough alone- or he will use the CCTV footage from the incident at the factory to report him to the police.

The question is: will Eric stay away like Caleb demands?

That remains to be seen but what I can tell you is that he and Caleb don’t stay mad at each other for too long, with the pair becoming friends. But will this newfound friendship prevent Eric from landing in trouble with the law?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 or stream from 7am on ITVX.
