Emmerdale ‘confirms’ who takes down Caleb – and it’s not Eric after all
Caleb Miligan (William Ash) might rue the day he made an enemy of Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) in Emmerdale after the truth of the former’s betrayal was exposed.
Caleb, as viewers know, has been putting a lot of time, effort and money into launching his new business enterprise, with Jai keen to get a slice of the lucrative pie, aligning himself with the entrepreneur.
But with Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) having filed for divorce while the business was getting up and running, Jai opted to hide his true wealth from his wife under the instruction of Caleb.
It was made quite clear to audiences that Caleb was pulling the wool over Jai’s eyes, determined to get his hands on his cash, but Jai remained unaware of such a thing, believing that he and Caleb were in business together.
The scales, however, well and truly fell from his eyes on Wednesday (November 13) as he realised that things weren’t adding up – namely the fact that, despite the business being just days away from opening, he didn’t have an office at the new depot.
Caleb, in comparison, had a large and very nice office.
Jai questioned the businessman on such a thing, with Caleb coming up with a flimsy excuse to explain the situation away. Jai doubled down on his previous request, asking for the money he’d put away to be safely returned to him now that Laurel is aware of their alliance.
Caleb attempted to talk him out of such a thing, telling him that he should wait until the divorce is completed but nonetheless Jai persisted, wanting his money back.
The way Caleb was behaving – coupled with the lack of office and the fact that he’d employed Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) despite Jai previously telling her no – raised serious alarm bells in Jai’s head.
To get Jai off his back, Caleb decided to ring the man who was needed to transfer the money, telling his ‘partner’ that he’d have his cash by the end of the week. But when Caleb left, Jai checked the call history – and no such call was made.
It seems Jai has been fleeced for all he’s worth.
Will Jai take revenge on Caleb? If so, Caleb might not see it coming at all, having clearly underestimated Jai this whole time.
With Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) finally off his back, Caleb thought that things were looking up – but he could indeed be about to face the fight of his life with Jai instead!
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 or stream from 7am on ITVX.
