There’s a huge shock in store for Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) in EastEnders next week when she learns that she is pregnant.

It’s been quite a traumatic time for the Walford legend after being involved in the Peggy’s nightclub crush earlier in the year. We’ve since seen her struggle with the pain sustained a result of her injuries.

To make matters worse, her somewhat erratic behaviour is picked up by boyfriend Peter Beale (Thomas Law) when she lashes out at him and their son Louie.

Fans have suspected that something may transpire from her behaviour, and that looks set to be confirmed.

After admitting that she isn’t coping with the pain, she seeks further help. However, the GP informs her that she can’t have another prescription to manage her symptoms.

It later became apparent that she may be pregnant after an open and honest conversation with Anna Knight (Molly Rainford), who recently terminated her pregnancy with Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell).

Viewers will remember that the shoe was actually on the other foot earlier this year, when Lauren prompted Bobby to investigate whether his girlfriend was expecting.

After talking about her symptoms with Anna, she is prompted to go into The Vic toilets and do a test.

To Lauren’s surprise, it’s positive.

This matches up with a recent Instagram Q&A conducted by actress Jacqueline Jossa, who said she was involved in a number of intense scenes at the moment.

Answering the fan’s question, she explained that she’s currently filming ‘a lot’, before adding that it ‘depends how much you’re in the stories’.

‘It changes due to how much you’re in an episode, if you’re in that week of episodes. We film in blocks so it changes all the time,’ she explained.

With such a huge shock incoming, how will she and Peter react?
