EASTENDERS legend has revealed they have a secret son, almost 40 years after joining the BBC soap.
The character has been in the BBC soap since the very first episode in 1985, yet fans were unaware that she had a secret son.
Actress Jane Slaughter has played the loyal Queen Vic barmaid Tracey since the soap’s beginning.
No matter who the landlord or landlady was, Tracey was always behind the bar, serving drinks to the residents and witnessing all the drama unfold.
EastEnders took to their official Instagram page on Saturday to give fans a sneak peek into a typical day at work for Jane, spilling some soap secrets in the process.
They captioned the video: “Jane Slaughter, AKA ‘Tracey from EastEnders’ has been with us since the very first episode in 1985!
“We loved following her around for this ‘Day in the Life’, listening in as her and Adam Woodyatt took a walk down memory lane. We hope you enjoy it too… #EastEnders.”
The Instagram reel showed Jane arriving on set early in the morning, grabbing her coffee and schedule for the day, which usually involves filming a block of scenes at the Queen Vic pub.
The actress revealed that her character has also worked at the market stall, The Albert, and the local fish and chip shop.
After getting her hair and makeup done and putting on her costume, Jane filmed scenes in the pub with her fellow cast members.
She reminisced with Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) about her first scenes on a flower stall, recalling how he was a “sweet young boy” back then.
Jane revealed to curious Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) that Tracey had a one-night stand with Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) a long time ago, something that is never spoken about.
But the most shocking moment was when Jane revealed her character Tracey had a son.
Jane said: “Tracey has a son. Some of you may remember. Some of you may not know.”
Peter Beale (Thomas Law) was left stunned as he admitted he never knew that.
Fans are now begging for EastEnders bosses to give Tracey her own storyline.
Taking to the comment section, one fan wrote: “She needs a storyline.”
Another added: “Can Tracey murder someone please?”
A third penned: “Tracey has always been lovely. Give her more lines for better yet, her own story. It’s the last she deserves! I also hope she’s paid well as the others are! Loyalty should be rewarded.”
