Emmerdale legend Dominic Brunt has been discussing the prospect of Paddy Kirk and Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) getting married.

Paddy and Mandy reunited after the breakdown in Paddy’s relationship with Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter).

After her affair with Al (Michael Wildman) was revealed, Paddy dumped Chas, but struggled with his mental health afterwards and even contemplated ending his life.

During the recovery, Mandy was a pillar of support for Paddy. She was there to listen and help, but son Vinny (Bradley Johnson) knew Mandy was also trying to show Paddy how much she means to him.

Mandy confessed her feelings to Paddy, but was left feeling awkward when he admitted he wasn’t too sure about a new relationship.

This prompted Mandy to pack a bag and prepare to leave the village. However, as she got ready to say goodbye to her life in the Dales, Paddy had reached the conclusion he wanted to be with Mandy after all and thankfully, they reunited while standing in the rain.

So romantic.

Recently, Dominic Brunt has been reflecting on Mandy and Paddy’s relationship journey and whether he’d like to see them tie the knot – again!

‘Yeah of course – definitely’, he told Inside Soap.

‘That’d be amazing. I don’t know if it’s on the cards or how they’re going to resolve this kiss. We’ve only just finished filming it so I don’t know what happens in the future – I don’t know where it goes…’

The kiss Dominic is referring to is between Paddy and Chas…we know.

In upcoming episodes, the former couple get caught up in an emotional moment and share a kiss.

‘Paddy and Chas have been through so much’, Dominic explained.

‘I think he says to Mandy, “Look, I do love her and I always will. But it’s a different kind of love”. He’s not very emotionally articulate. It’s a mistake, which he does with good intentions. It wasn’t going to go any further. As soon as he does it, he stops. It was literally just to comfort her.’

He added: ‘Mandy is the absolute love of his life, completely and utterly. I think he’s always been in love with her – I don’t think he ever got over her. I think that’s why he goes and tells her straight away.

‘Now that they’re back together again forever he’s frightened that it’s messed up.

‘But I’ve been so lucky because I worked with Lisa Riley for years, then Zoe Henry [Rhona] and Lucy Pargeter – I feel blessed to work with three incredible actors.’
