Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) certainly could’ve handled things better when it comes to his feelings for Ella Forster (Paula Lane) in Emmerdale.

The two characters were together for a brief period, but their relationship never really went anywhere due to Liam’s connection with Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter).

Liam and Chas slept together before Chas was diagnosed with breast cancer. When this happened, any hopes of a relationship quickly faded away due to the emotional and overwhelming journey Chas went on as she faced her illness.

A few weeks ago, when the Dingles dealt with the news of Zak’s (Steve Halliwell) death, Liam sat with a heartbroken Chas and told her that he wasn’t going anywhere.

It was a statement that left them both taken aback and ultimately, it led them to being honest about their feelings for each other and admitting they wanted to be together.

Coming up, Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker) feels concerned when she learns of Ella’s plans to leave the village.

As Manpreet comes up with a plan, Liam pays Chas a visit in the backroom of the pub and is absolutely stunned when Liam reveals that he’s in love with her.

After Liam learns of Manpreet and Ella’s plan to move into Dale Head together Liam feels gutted, knowing his relationship with Chas would continue without any stress if Ella wasn’t in the village.

Later, Chas finds Liam and asks to put the brakes on their relationship a little, before admitting that she’s also in love with him. Unbeknownst to them both, Ella has witnessed their heated conversation.

How long will it be until she works out what is going on?

And given this is Ella – who spent time behind bars for murdering her friend when she was a child – just how will she react?
