After sharing a secret kiss with Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) last month, Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) gets into a drunken row with his partner Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) in EastEnders this week.
The café owner has grown closer to Harvey in recent months, following the break-up of her marriage to his best mate Rocky Cotton (Brian Conley) and the pressure of helping the rest of The Six to cover up Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) murder.
While they had been conscious about making sure other people didn’t get the wrong impression about their blossoming friendship, Kathy crossed the line when she planted a kiss on him after he’d had a row with Jean.
After Harvey turned her down gently, the pair agreed to keep the moment to themselves.
This week, Kathy is in high spirits at Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) and George Knight’s (Colin Salmon) wedding celebrations as she parties with Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) and Denise Fox (Diane Parish).
Later, a drunk Kathy heads to the café where she encounters Jean and they soon share cross words over Harvey.
A furious Jean tells Kathy to stay out of her relationship – but there’s further drama between the pair later in the week.
After coming into an unexpected pension pot last month, Jean has been taken in by a rogue financial advisor, not realising it is a scam.
As she shared some news with her family during a meal at Walford East, she and Harvey come to blows when he questions the legitimacy of her financial advisors.
Their argument rumbles on back at home as Jean shuts Harvey out of decision making.
She later faces similar questions from Kathy, who encourages her to make sure everything is legit, but Jean doesn’t take her advise well and the pair come to blows.
Will Kathy let the truth about her and Harvey slip?
