Stacey’s fears for Jean deepen in EastEnders as her dire situation spirals
Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) fears her mum Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) is in over her head amid her scamming ordeal in EastEnders next week.
Jean unexpectedly came into some money last month after finding out she had a pension pot she knew nothing about.
However, she has been taken in by a rogue financial advisor, not realising it is a scam.
She has ignored warnings from partner Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) and forthcoming scenes see the truth dawn on her.
Next week, a worried Stacey tries to convince Jean to report the matter to the police.
However, she is left feeling helpless when the reality of the situation kicks in.
Jean has a brief moment of hope when she seeks some legal advice and a solicitor suggests she will be able to get her money back.
But Stacey remains rightly concerned about Jean’s situation and asks former flame Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) to use his powers as a police officer to look into it for her.
‘When it comes to her mum, it’s always a worry because you never know how far anything is going to go with her mental health,’ explains Lacey Turner, who plays Stacey.
‘It’s difficult to know if it’s going to pass quickly or if it’s going to escalate, so whenever it comes to Jean, she is always very worried about where it could lead.’
EastEnders airs these scenes from Monday 2 December at 7.30pm on BBC One and from 6am on iPlayer.
