Moira Barton breaks down in tears over news about her brain tumour in Emmerdale as Cain Dingle makes shock confession
Will Cain and Moira be able to work through their latest struggle?
MOIRA Barton has a tough time ahead of her on Emmerdale – with as she breaks down over news of brain tumour and husband Cain making a shock confession.
Doctors confirmed the character – played by Natalie J. Robb – has a brain tumour back in September.
Her health is coming to the forefront of storylines in ITV scenes yet to air.
While Moira intends to throw Cain (Jeff Hordley) a birthday party, son Matty (Ash Palmisciano) is unconvinced she’s well enough.
Cain meanwhile lies about his whereabouts and, consumed by guilt, settles somewhere for the night.
Moira is worried to not have heard from Cain, but is certain that he will arrive.
Sending Matty home, she delays her appointment but is soon running out of time to postpone any further.
After making a last-ditch call to Cain, an anxious Moira prepares to receive her pathology results alone.
Meanwhile, Cain finds himself blocked from leaving thanks to Jai’s (Chris Bisson) awkwardly parked car.
Spurred on by a voicemail from Moira, he then finds himself stopped by PC Swirling (Andy Whitaker).
After an aggressive approach, an agitated Cain is put under an untimely arrest.
Later on, Swirling is left conflicted after a deflated Cain asks for one private conversation with Moira on the phone.
Composed – but heartbroken by his callousness – Moira is horrified to hear what Cain has done.
Although she reveals her results were fine, Moira admits to a gutted Matty that she’ll need radiotherapy as they cry.
Swirling lets Cain off with a caution, but he is disinterested in the police officer’s compassion.
Liam (Jonny McPherson) finds a drunk Cain in the allotment and makes a supportive move to help his friend.
After the doctor drops Cain off, a furious Moira reveals the surprise party – insisting he pull himself together.
A guilty Cain feels like he needs to tell Moira the truth – but about what?
