Emmerdale updates fans on Chloe Harris in early ITVX episode
Amy shared the details with Mack.
Emmerdale spoilers follow from Tuesday’s episode (December 3), which is available to watch now on streaming service ITVX but hasn’t yet aired on ITV1.
Emmerdale has given fans an update on Chloe Harris and her young son Reuben – almost one year on from their surprise exit.
Chloe was given a rare mention in Tuesday’s episode as her ex-partner Mackenzie Boyd had a secret meeting with Amy Wyatt.
Last month, Mackenzie impulsively stole a bag of cash from the illegal boxing match that newcomer Jade had organised between Ross Barton and Billy Fletcher.
The missing money is about to have huge consequences for Ross, as Jade wrongly blames him for the incident and starts to target those close to him as she takes revenge.
Tuesday’s episode explored Mackenzie’s plans for the money as he vowed to spoil his stepson Moses at Christmas.
He also set up a discreet meeting with Chloe’s sister Amy, wanting her to pass on an envelope of money so that his son Reuben is provided for.
Mackenzie lied to a suspicious Amy by claiming that he’d been “saving up all year” to come up with the cash. He added that he wants Reuben to know “that his dad still loves him”.
Although Amy confirmed that her absent sibling could do with the money, she promised that everything is going well for Chloe and Reuben.
She said: “They’re fine. They’re thriving, actually. It’s just kids, they’re expensive, aren’t they?”
Amy offered to secretly send Mackenzie some photos of Reuben so that he could see how his son is getting along.
A spooked Mackenzie insisted: “I think it’ll be too hard and I can’t handle it, so don’t send me anything.”
Chloe bowed out from Emmerdale on Boxing Day last year as her long-running love triangle storyline with Mackenzie and Charity Dingle reached its conclusion. Mackenzie was devastated as she took Reuben with her.
Jessie Elland, who played Chloe, said at the time: “I’ve had the best two years of my life playing Chloe and being a part of Emmerdale. Over those two years, it never got any less surreal to walk through the stage door at studios or to be stood outside The Woolpack at the village.
“I feel so privileged to have been given this opportunity and to have been trusted with such wonderful storylines.”
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
