Mark Jordon’s shock Emmerdale return as tears flowing in exit storyline
Mark Jordon filmed a one-episode return as Daz Spencer as part of Daisy Campbell's Emmerdale exit
A former Emmerdale star’s shock return has been welcomed by an outgoing favourite.
Mark Jordon, 59, recently filmed a one-episode comeback as Daz Spencer to tie up character Amelia Spencer leaving the village. Daisy Campbell, 21, has played Amelia Spencer in Emmerdale since 2011 with the acting star growing up on the ITV soap. As reported earlier this year, Emmerdale bosses felt the time was right for Amelia to leave the village.
Appearing at an Emmerdale press event, at the show’s Leeds base, Daisy admitted her exit comes with ‘mixed emotions’. Although she was delighted to see Mark, who is in a relationship with Emmerdale cast member Laura Norton, return for his scenes.
Mark previously played Daz in Emmerdale between 2014 and 2019. Daisy, explained Ameila’s exit, said: “We film in two-week blocks. So, the first week was with Mark Jordon, who plays Daz, so it was lovely to see him again. Then, whenever I work with Laura (Norton) she’s so good at doing emotions. So, when she cries, I cry.
“Then the second week, I was really dreading my last block, as I hate crying in front of people – unless it is for a scene. My last week just felt fine. I really didn’t cry that much. I was actually proud of myself.”
Amelia’s exit sees her leave the village for Leicestershire with Daz. Emmerdale spoilers show Amelia announces she’s moving away from the village. Amy throws a last-minute goodbye party for Amelia but Amelia’s gutted when Kerry fails to show up.
Later, Amelia is seen to be emotional as she bids farewell but will Kerry really let Amelia leave without a final goodbye? In an attempt to avoid giving too much away, Daisy spoke about her friendship with Laura Norton, 41, who plays Kerry in Emmerdale.
Daisy said: “Obviously, I came in as part of a big family in the show, the Spencers. That was the first rough round the edges family – apart from the Dingles. As those years have gone by, everyone has gone and she built this amazing relationship with Kerry. On-and-off screen as we are so close in real-life.
“Kerry and Amelia used to dress the same in the show. They started to make me a bit like Kerry and then we lost that for a bit. Now, I think it would put her and Kerry at peace if they did have that nice ending.
“Obviously, they butt heads a lot but I think it is because the characters are really similar. She’s so protective over Amelia. We’ll see, I can’t say too much. It is a nice ending, it is really lovely.”
