EastEnders legend misses life she use to have as she laments over lost love and tragedy
Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) was feeling anything but festive in tonight’s episode of EastEnders.
The beloved character has been consumed with grief and trauma ever since her partner Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) disappeared in 2022.
After a showdown with Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks), Mick went out at sea, believing Linda was still out there following a car accident.
Seconds later, it was confirmed Linda had made it to shore. Due to the icy cold water and Mick’s lack of swimming skills, the Carters have assumed he more than likely d.i.e.d.
A year later, Linda’s life changed again when she k.i.l.l.e.d Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters). She then spent most of 2024 trying to keep her secret hidden, but she often found comfort in a bottle of booze, an addiction that hasn’t been dealt with ever since.
In tonight’s episode, Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) was chatting to Linda. She was serving behind the bar but also drinking at the same time.
When topic of conversation turned to Christmas, Linda couldn’t help reminisce about the life she was living a few years ago.
Mick was alive, Lee (Danny Hatchard), Nancy (Maddy Hill) and Johnny (Charlie Suff) were at home enjoying the festive celebrations, everything was perfect.
The sheer contrast between her two worlds hit Linda hard. She filled up her glass and became tearful. Of course, Alfie tried to help his friend, but nothing he said would’ve made the situation any better.
This development comes ahead of a seriously worrying time for Linda, which will see her choose alcohol over being supported by her family.
Filming pictures from earlier in the year appeared to indicate that cast members of the show were filming Linda’s funeral so is this episode confirmation that the storyline will end with the matriarch’s demise?
