D.e.a.t.h danger for EastEnders’ Linda as she disappears ahead of funeral
Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) puts herself in serious danger in EastEnders next week, amid fears she could be the mystery character k.i.l.l.e.d off this Christmas.
Fans of the BBC soap recently learned that one Walford favourite will meet their end in the coming weeks.
The twist was revealed after an unnamed star accidentally left a key script on a train last month.
It added to speculation Linda is being written out of the show, after her on-screen children were recently photographed on location filming a funeral.
Next week, Linda’s recent alcoholism relapse spirals further, as she alienates herself from her family and friends.
After a bust-up with son Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) over his younger brother Ollie (Harry Farr), Linda packs her bags and leaves The Vic.
Best mate Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) agrees to take her in, but it’s not long before she is forced to give Linda a dressing down.
As the week goes on, her behaviour continues to bring disgrace to her and pain to her loved ones.
After another incident, Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) and Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa), who have both battled an addiction to alcohol, come to her rescue and offer to attend a meeting with her.
Linda agrees and Johnny is thrilled that she wants to recover – until he realises she’s already plotting how to get her next drink.
After he throws her out of The Vic, Linda heads off into the night…
Will she be OK?
‘You will see the very worst version of Linda on screen,’ actress Kellie Bright says of the week’s episodes.
‘She is so awful and says such horrible things to people that she’s getting more and more isolated.
‘She is mentally detaching herself from the people that care about her.’
Fans certainly have reason to fear Linda’s d.e.a.t.h, as it was recently revealed Nancy (Maddy Hill) and Lee (Danny Hatchard) are set to return to the show in the coming weeks.
They were pictured filming a funeral with their sibling Johnny, who was crying and drowning his sorrows – while actress Kellie Bright was nowhere to be seen…
Many fans also noticed that Nancy was wearing flamingo earrings in the pictures, pointing out the birds are one of Linda’s trademark decorative touches. Her mum Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) was also sporting pink nails in a potential nod to her on-screen daughter’s favourite colour.
Kellie also added to the speculation when she shared an image of a bowl she’d made at a pottery class that was adorned with the words ‘The End’.
EastEnders airs these scenes on Wednesday 11 December at 7.30pm on BBC One and from 6am on iPlayer.
