Daisy Campbell is known to millions of Emmerdale fans as Amelia Spencer
An axed Emmerdale star has reunited with two of her former colleagues at Leeds Christmas Market.
Daisy Campbell, 21, known to millions of Emmerdale fans as Amelia Spencer. As we’ve previously reported, the star has been let go by bosses at the ITV soap.
She has recently enjoyed a trip to Leeds Christmas Markets with former co-stars Katie Hill and Rosie Bentham. Daisy recently spoke to LeedsLive at an Emmerdale press conference about leaving the show.
Daisy Campbell, has played Amelia Spencer in Emmerdale since 2011 with the acting star growing up on the ITV soap. Daisy admitted her exit comes with ‘mixed emotions’ with her now looking to the future. She said: “It has been a tough year and I’ve had to deal with so much but I was so at peace (when she filmed her character Amelia’s exit). I’m not only leaving for myself, it is a character that I’ve always played and it was my first ever job.
“It felt really sad but it was nice to close the door and be at peace – allowing it to play out as it has this year. It is really upsetting as it is all I’ve ever known.” Daisy stated she’s excited about what comes next in her career.
Asked what her plans are, Daisy replied: “To carry on with my acting. From being here as a kid, you fall into this and then when I turned 13, I knew this was something that I really wanted to do. Since I’ve found out I was leaving, my determination for acting is just so much more now. There’s so much I want to do. It is the perfect age as I have no responsibilities. I can do what I want.
“I’m really excited to see what comes my way and see what opportunities arise – it should be good. I just need a challenge. I just want to see what I’m like on another set. I don’t know what that is like. This is all I’ve ever known. This will be the year, next year, to really push myself which I’m looking forward to.”
