Emmerdale ‘confirms’ Cain Dingle’s second affair in huge twist – and fans are not happy
Emmerdale Cain Dingle cheated on his wife last month - and fans are certain he has done it again in a heartbreaking twist
Emmerdale fans are certain Cain Dingle has cheated on his wife Moira for a second time.
The soap legend (Jeff Hordley) has been struggling in recent months, following Moira’s (Natalie J Robb) meningioma brain tumour diagnosis. In November, Moira managed to have surgery for the brain tumour – but while she was having the operation, Cain spiralled out of control.
After downing a bottle of booze, he ended up assaulting Jimmy King (Nick Miles) – but things took a more dramatic turn when Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) showed up at Cain’s garage later on.
Ruby was shocked to see brother-in-law Cain, after thinking he would be at the hospital with Moira. But one thing led to another and the pair ended up kissing passionately.
In another scene, Cain and Ruby were seen fixing their clothes signalling they had taken their moment of passion further. Both Cain and Ruby were left appalled by their actions, insisting that nobody can ever know.
Following their shock s.e.x.u.a.l encounter, Cain had been ridden with guilt, while dodging Ruby to keep their tryst under wraps – and has succeeded so far.
In Monday’s episode (December 9), Cain was left rattled when Ruby and Caleb Miligan (William Ash) decided to visit Moira at home after her surgery. Feeling cornered and desperate to prevent Moira from suspecting their affair, Cain hastily concocted an excuse to leave.
He told his family he needed to travel to Dudley to collect a vintage car, leaving Moira feeling let down. Unbeknownst to Cain, who lied about where he was going, Moira was organising a surprise birthday bash for him as a gesture of gratitude for his support during her illness.
Cain found himself sitting in his pickup truck on a rural road, wrestling with the consequences of his actions and the potential ruin of his marriage. Upon receiving a message from Moira enquiring about his return home, he responded with a lie, stating that he needed to stay overnight.
But viewers are certain Cain is hiding another huge secret. Sharing their thoughts on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, fans think he could have cheated on Moira for a second time. “Hmmm, what is Cain up to,” said one person.
Putting forward their shock theory a second wrote: “Guilty. Has he cheated again?” A third replied: “I thought that. It could have happened off-screen, wouldn’t put it past writers, they’ve ruined his character already.” Another person thought it could have been with villager Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh). They penned: “With Tracy!” As another wrote: “Oh I hope not, but you’re probably right.”
