Recent Emmerdale scenes saw Tom King (James Chase) reflect on the murder that turned his life upside down, ahead of a dark development in his story.

Angelica King (Rebecca Bakes) has been struggling following her confession that she was driving the night Heath Hope was killed, and recent scenes saw Tom offer her some much-needed advice.

Having seen Jimmy King (Nick Miles) in tears over her current situation, Angelica fled, only to be found by Tom just outside the village.

When Tom asked how she was doing, Angel admitted that her family was falling apart and that she felt as though it was all her fault.

In a bid to help her feel less alone, Tom revealed that he knew how she felt, as he had been a similar age to her when his dad had died.

Tom’s dad, Carl King, was murdered by serial killer Cameron Murray in October 2012, who lashed out at the villain after he attempted to rape Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter).

Tom explained to Angel how he hadn’t known how to feel and was often torn between being angry and scared.

Angel then confessed that she too felt scared, which is understandable given that she is facing a long stretch behind bars.

Tom was quick to comfort her, insisting that she was braver than he ever was, and encouraged her to channel some of her mum Nicola King’s (Nicola Wheeler) strength.

Tom’s advice to Angel came amid preparations for his wedding to Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper), during which they decided not to have any bridesmaids or groomsmen, following Jimmy’s decision not to be Tom’s best man.

However, after learning what Tom had done for Angel, Jimmy was so touched that he changed his mind.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem as though married life will be as blissful as the couple hopes, as Tom has previously shown some worrying, controlling behaviour.

Even actress Eden Taylor-Draper has admitted that, if she was a viewer, she probably wouldn’t want to see Belle and Tom tie the knot.

‘The audience saw the flashbacks and witnessed his controlling behaviour,’ she said.

‘Also I feel like once the viewers see the whole wedding unfold and all that happens right through to the last scene of the episode. The answer then would be probably not.’
